HOCK
& ROLL
YOUNG
people from the Withins, Harper Green, Sharples and Turton
areas are getting the opportunity to play inline hockey (the
country's fastest growing sport) at their local Leisure Centre.
Due
to the huge success of the inline hockey skills course that
have been run at Withins for the past three months, the Leisure
Centre has decided to develop its own team.
A number of children have attended the inline hockey course,
and so far 17 children have passed up to Skill Level 3. The
young people who attended the courses were very keen to compete
in an inline hockey league.
The
Withins Wasps, as they will be known, will be based at the
Leisure Centre. Any boys or girls aged seven to 16 years are
welcome to come along to try their hand at this exciting sport.
Training sessions take place on Sundays noon to 1pm. For further
information, please contact Howard Tustin on 01204 395980.
Additionally,
Turton Community Leisure Centre holds drop-in inline hockey
sessions every Saturday between 10am and 1pm. These sessions
are open for anyone to turn up - all you need is a pair of
blades.
Furthermore,
Sharpies Leisure Centre regularly runs courses and Harper
Green will shortly be jumping on the inline hockey bandwagon.
Contact each Centre for further details.
